Since the very first Diablo game emerged from the depths of hell in 1997, there have always been classes you could choose to play with. The original cast consisted of the Warrior, Rogue, and Mage. Many more have appeared since then, and Diablo Immortal has six classes at the moment.

A few of them moved over from Diablo 3, but you’ll still need to learn how the new skill points and abilities work in this new version made for mobile. To that end, stay tuned for our recommendations for the top 3 classes in Diablo Immortal.

Ideal 3 Diablo Immortal Classes for beginners

Crusader

The Crusader is a tank class that gets straight up into the action. You might think this is a bad Diablo Immortal class for beginners, but it’s quite the opposite. With a massive shield and towering weapon, your character will deal immense damage in a huge area. It’s also good if you want to incapacitate your foes, stunning them while you drive your shiny blade through their sternums.

One example of how well the Crusader class works for beginners in Diablo Immortal is with some of the chaining abilities. You can mount your powerful horse and group enemies as you bash at them. The Spinning Shield skill draws opponents towards you, giving you a chance to blind them before you go on a killing spree.

Necromancer

Not fond of getting up close and personal? The Necromancer class in Diablo Immortal lets you cast your powers from mid-range, damaging them from a distance. To keep the enemies away from you, there are summoned skeletons to do your bidding and attack them head-on.

Another fantastic skill lets you explode corpses on the ground, which stems from Diablo 3. Of course, you’ll need to kill a few beasts first to create the corpses, after which you can make them blow up into other creatures. It’s an effective way to deal with elites and bosses quickly.

Wizard

I’ve chosen the Wizard as my favorite class, not only for Diablo Immortal, but for any game in the series. I’ve always been fascinated with magic and powers, so I’m instantly drawn to the mage class. It has a massive Area of Effect (AoE) damage with many skills that let you hit several enemies simultaneously.

The Wizard class may be more challenging for beginners to learn, as you’ll need to understand how each of its powers works. However, once you have the hang of the ranged and close magical attacks, you’ll be nearly invincible. Build up your abilities and wait for the right moment to unleash them, especially when you’re surrounded.

Are Diablo Immortal classes important?

No two classes in Diablo Immortal are the same. Each one has a specific skill set, which means you’ll unlock powers connected to that class. Some are ranged, others you’ll use close to your enemies, and there are some with AoE abilities. You’ll also notice there are powers with cooldown timers, which could bring you closer to the gates of Death than you’d like.

If you’re a beginner to the Diablo series, take your time learning how each class works. Unlock new skills by leveling up and see which one’s abilities work the best for you. You should also pay attention to how buffs and magical items boost the power of your skills, as you’ll need them later when you take on the more challenging bosses.

Can you change classes in Diablo Immortal?

Fortunately, you can select a different class in Diablo Immortal if you’re not happy with the one you chose in the beginning. When you exit the class, you’ll see there’s a ‘+’ icon underneath your character. Selecting it will open a page to create a new character. Your previous one will still be there to continue as before, but you’ll need to start over.

I suspect this dynamic may change later on for the classes. In Diablo 3, you unlock Paragon when you reach level 70. If you’ve done so for other classes, you automatically have all the skill slots open for the level you reached for them. However, changing a class and continuing with your story in Diablo Immortal is not an option as yet.

The reason is that the stories, loot, and some quests align with your chosen class. So, if you suddenly swapped them in the middle of the game, it may mess with some of the mechanics. Blizzard mentioned that they will find a solution for changing classes and still continue with the same questline. For now, you’ll end up starting over, which is perfectly fine with me. Dawnblade for mobile does the same thing, and I prefer it that way.
